Krušné hory

The client had a lot of data available for hiking activities across the Krušné hory. The problem was that their existing technical background did not allow them to effectively deliver this data to the customer on a mobile platform.

So the requirement was to create a mobile app that simply conveys on maps to the user information such as routes, accommodation, events, restaurants and more that might be of interest to them as they venture into the beauty of this mountain range stretching from the west to the north of our country.

The app was to conveniently display notable tourist spots, events and happenings, communicate updates, share proven routes, recommend accommodations and restaurants, and indicate where info centers are located. All the data was already in place and a sensible user interface had to be designed to ensure quick and convenient navigation.

In the end, List maps were used as the map base instead of Google maps, as they were much more "tourist friendly". The target group also uses Seznam maps more for similar purposes, so the choice was obvious here. All of the display categories mentioned in the challenge were displayed in the lower horizontal menu. Selecting a category centers the map to cover all points. Of course, the app can display the user's current location to see how far away they are from the locations.

After completion, the Krušné hory app was published in both the App Store (Apple, iOS) and Google Play (Google, Android). We regularly maintain the apps and improve the services offered. It was a pleasure for us to be involved in the creation of such a project, because many of our developers are from the aforementioned area, where they spend a lot of time hiking.
